An enamelled gold and gem set brooch

spelling in a Neo-Gothic script 'RECUERDO', Portuguese for Remember,
the first letter set with rose cut diamonds against a blue enamelled
background containing coloured enamel floral motifs, the remaining
letters enamelled red over 'paillons' (tiny pieces of gold foil) against a cream background
in the manner of a medieval illuminated manuscript,
the reverse of the jewel enamelled royal blue.
