This, the first and to date, only study of Castellani and Giuliano contains knowledge derived from first-hand experience as well as a unique body of photographic material from private collections, the majority of which is previously unpublished. The author is managing director of Wartski Ltd, which specializes in works of art by Carl Fabergé. He is a member of the committee of the London-based Society of Jewellery Historians, and writes regularly in the specialist press on nineteenth-century jewellery.
