A late seventeenth- early eighteenth century
enamelled gold Rebus ring
yellow gold with plain exterior, the interior inscribed with blackened letters and motifs reading:
'Our Hearts and Hands Are One till Death'
The Hearts are represented by twinned red enamelled hearts, the Hands by engraved
clasped hands with cuffs and Death by a champleve white enamel skeleton.

A rebus ring with similar motifs minus enamel is held in the collection of the British Museum.
It reads 'Our hands and hearts with one consent hath tied this knot till death prevent', (Dalton , 1280).
