Posy ring
A Seventeenth century English Posy ring,

yellow gold, engraved:

‘Bee Firme in Faith’

 Maker: Thomas Waite,
York, circa 1615.

The lettering had retained its original black compound colouring. This is highly unusual as
the colour is lost on most posy rings.A posy ring engraved with the more conventionally
spelled 'Be Firm in Faith' is recorded in English Posies and Posy Rings,
Dame Joan Evans,( London, 1931), page 25.
