George Edward Hunt was born in Dudley in 1892. He entered the St Margaret School of Art in 1908,
where he was taught by leading silversmiths such as Bernard Cuzner, now famed for his work for Liberty & Co.
Hunt also studied alongside other key Arts and Crafts jewelers, such as Dorrie Nossiter and Katie Eadie.
Hunt produced his jewels at The Studio, 10 Bull St, Harborne, Birmingham.

A similar example was exhibited in the ‘George Edward Hunt: The Silent World of an Arts and Crafts Jeweller’ exhibition (2006).
The example illustrated in the accompanying catalogue is of square form but is similarly decorated with enamel and seeds pearls.
