Giulinano pin

A gold brooch in the form of a sistrum by Carlo Giuliano

Sistrums are scared percussion instruments played to accompany religious ceremonies in ancient
Egypt and Rome. When shaken the small rings or loops of thin metal on their moveable crossbars produce
a sound that can range from a soft tinkling to a loud jangling. It is mentioned that Sistrums were played to
avert the flooding of the Nile and Virgil records them also being used to summon troops.
