Faberge ring

A rare jewelled Fabergé ring,

an oval cabochon emerald encircled by cushion cut diamonds, the
shoulders of the reeded gold shank each set with four diamonds,
mounted on a pierced gallery.

Workmaster: Alfred Thielemann,
St. Petersburg, circa 1900.

inventory number: 2761

Provenance:

An English private collection

Rings are the rarest forms of Fabergé jewellery. Very few have survived and been identified.
This is because Fabergé hallmarked rings on the outside of the shank and the marks wear
away over time. Their relatively high intrinsic values also led to them being
broken up during the turmoil of twentieth century Russia.
