A jewelled and four coloured gold mounted Lapis Lazuli
frame by Carl Fabergé,


a rectangular panel with indented pediment cut from a single piece of Lapis Lazuli
centred with an oval aperture beneath bombé glass held in a half pearl bezel,
mounted with finely chased four coloured gold swags and festoons
suspended from rose diamonds, two  rose diamonds set in gold
towards the base of the frame, surmounted by a yellow gold
bow set with a further diamond, with mother of pearl backing,
supported on a scrolled silver gilt strut.

5.3 cm high including bow.

 Fabergé knew Lapis lazuli as Bukhara Azurite after the Bukhara region of Uzbekistan
where it was sourced. Here as with the nephrite frame by Aarne, with the preceding
inventory number, the stone is cut finely and has a gauge of 2.6 mm.
