A large guilloché enamelled silver gilt frame
by Carl Fabergé,
of rectangular form, enamelled opalescent oyster white
over a sunburst guillochage, centred by an oval aperture
beneath glass within a beaded bezel, with wood back,
supported on a scrolled silver gilt strut, mounted with
a plaque engraved in Cyrillic 'XXV 29th June 1912'.

In its original silk and velvet lined fitted hollywood case,
the lid satin stamped in Cyrillic 'Fabergé, St. Petersburg,
Moscow, London' beneath the Imperial warrant.
The underside of the case inscribed in pencil 'Mrs E K
Roberts, XMAS 1932, C Watney'. The Watneys were
brewers and owned a brewery covering several acres
behind Victoria station in London. They were prominent
members of Edwardian society and customers of
Fabergé's London branch before its closure
in February 1917.
