Imperial Russian heart brooch

A diamond-set brooch
by Fabergé,

in the form of an asymmetrical heart in the Rococo taste framing a gold trellis work,
each intersection set with a brilliant-cut diamond, the whole surmounted
with a diamond-set forget-me-not flower.

Moscow, circa 1895.

This brooch appears in the catalogue of jewels and silverware issued by Fabergé's Moscow branch in 1899;
it is number 30 and its cost 420 roubles. Jewels were generally more expensive than silver or works of art at
Fabergé. A large coloured gold mounted Siberian nephrite Fabergé table box was bought by the
Tsar and Tsarina in February 1900 for 425 roubles, only five roubles more.
