Faberge compass

A gold mounted and jewelled nephrite compass
by Carl Fabergé,

the body carved from a single piece of translucent green nephrite,
the rotating painted white paper dial mounted on a gold spindle
and centred by a richly coloured blue cabochon sapphire in a
gadrooned gold mount, viewed through a  panel of bevelled
rock crystal framed by finely chased green gold laurels
against a red gold ground.
