Faberge- An enamelled gold cigarette case.

A gem set gold mounted enamelled silver gilt case
by Carl Fabergé,

rectangular form, enamelled with opaque pink, blue, white and green stripes, mounted with a gold border chased with acanthus leaves, the push piece a cabochon mounted sapphire.

Provenance:

Purchased by Lord Alington from Fabergé's
London branch on 4th April 1914.

 

 

 

 

The case's Russian assay and English import marks for
1910-1911; pieces made by Fabergé in precious metals for
sale at the English branch of the firm were required to be
reassayed by Goldsmiths' Hall in London.
