A hardstone bear by Fabergé,

carved from brown jasper in a standing position with its head slightly
forward, its coat naturalistically rouched around its neck and shoulders,
its right paw raised to its mouth, each eye set with a rose diamond.

8.7 cm tall
 
Signed under its left foot ‘C. Fabergé’

The Edwardian socialite Albert Stopford purchased a brown jasper bear from
Fabergé’s shop at 48 Dover Street, London in November 1909 for £26 6s,
its inventory number was 12923.

A similar Fabergé standing bear from the collection of Prince Theodore
Obolensky, a friend of Stopford, is illustrated in The Art of Carl Fabergé,
A. Kenneth Snowman, (London, 1953), plates 101 & 102.
