Faberge box Wigstrom

 

An enamelled two coloured gold box
by Carl Fabergé,

rectangular red gold the lid engine turned with a moiré pattern, within a chased green gold
laurel and opaque white enamel border, the base similarly turned.

acquired from the Wigström family collection.

Henrik Wigström (1862-1923) was Fabergé's last and most prolific Chief Workmaster. All the Imperial Easter Eggs between
1904 and 1917 were made under his supervision and nine of them bear his hallmark. The elegance of his work combined
with the focus on Empire and Louis XVI styles make his work readily identifiable.
