Dish silver noh mask

A repoussé silver dish in the form of a Noh theatre mask
by Henry William Dee,

 retailed by Carlo Giuliano at 115 Piccadilly, this is a very rare work of Japanese inspiration to
be sold by the firm.   Made by Henry William Dee (1823-1896), this is the earliest of several identical
examples retailed by Giuliano,the others bearing the mark of Henry William’s brother Louis Dee.  The firm was
established by their father Thomas William Dee in partnership with John Fargues around 1827.  
Fargues left the business around 1851 and by 1859 Dee had been joined by his two sons.
