A pair of antique enamelled cufflinks
by Child & Child,


the yellow gold terminals shaped as hearts, each enamelled vivid translucent green
over an engraved ground and edged with opaque white enamel with gold circles
in relief, joined by curb link chains, signed to the reverse with
Child & Child's distinctive sunflower mark.

Child & Child were a firm of jewellers established in London in 1880. They shared much in common with their
contemporaries Giuliano and were likewise patronised by the Pre-Raphaelite artists. Edward Burne Jones entrusted
the firm to make up a number of his designs.They enjoyed Royal patronage and Queen Alexandra granted
the business her warrant. Their work often included green enamel of the shade used in these cufflinks.
