Antique silver box

A seventeenth century silver spice casket,

of rectangular form on four bun feet,
the slightly domed lid engraved with foliate motifs
and a putto peeping out,
the undulating handle centred with a heart motif
and with sphere terminals,
the body engraved further with husk and foliate motifs,
opens with iron button.

Mark of TT,
probably Thomas Tysoe
Circa 1690
